A booklet telling about The Col. Charles Young House and Museum of African American Military History. The Museum also serves as The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Museum and Hall of Fame. The museums were established to ensure that the contributions of the fraternity and of African Americans in the Military were not to be forgotten. Charles Young (March 12, 1864 - January 8, 1922) was the third African American graduate of West Point, first black U.S. national park superintendent, first African American military attaché, and highest ranking black officer in the United States Army until his death in 1922. duplicate of 2006.002.2267 |
