Albumen print, matted. Image shows a monument shot from the front, 3/4 to the right profile, monument has a granite base, step pedimented, inscription on first pediment, second pediment says "CLEBURNE" in relief, lettering on the left side unclear, topped by ornamental base with more lettering to the right and the Confederate Seal to the left, obelisk with a carved garland draped around it 3/4 of the way up, topped by an urn with a flame. Monument is standing on a sandy mound in tall grass, ironwork fencing visible behind monument to the left, tombstones to the right, mature hard woods and a small magnolia tree visible in the background and to the right. Fracture along right side from glass plate negative visible on the right of the print. Matted with cream colored cardstock. |
