Gem tintype with applied color; bust portrait of the back of a young woman's head, 3/4 facing to the right from the back, hair coiled in a bun low at the nape of the neck with front lengths coiled and hanging behind neck in a loop below bun, crimped around hairline, coils held by a net or snood, long earring visible right ear, right cheek tinted pink, plain neckline and shoulder line of dark material; image is framed in a card mount centered in a printed gold medallion design; printed on the reverse: "WING'S/Ferrotype Card Mount/PATENT PENDING/Miniatures patented by the invent/Patent Camera/At the Old Original Place/144 WASHINGTON STREET,/BOSTON." |
