Ninth-plate ambrotype with color added; man seated, facing camera, looking at camera, from waist up; hair parted on side and cropped at ear lobes, slightly curled around ears; clean shaven, cheeks and lips tinted pink; shirt collar turned down, large bow tie, double-breasted civilian coat with large lapels, dark vest, shirt buttons visible and tinted gold; non-pareil style embossed gilt mat [tarnished], preserver is stamped with simple scroll motif; case is thermoplastic union case with raised medallion surrounded by simple scroll on both obverse and reverse exterior sections; obverse interior [door] section is lined with [red?] faded velvet, embosed with spade motif; brass hinges and latch in tact; Littleberry Allen Marston was the brother of Lucenia Harrison Marston, 0985.13.2162b. |
