Sixth-plate ambrotype with color added; young woman seated in chair, 3/4 pose to the right, from knees up; hair combed back with long ringlets falling to the sides and tucked behind ears, looking at camera, cheeks and lips tinted pink, hair necklace with cross pendant around neck and metal elements tinted gold, oval shaped neckline, off the shoulder, edged in lace with brooch at center tinted gold, bodice and skirt may have a lace or eyelet pattern, short ruffled sleeves, waistband, full skirt, right arm resting on table with book on table, left arm resting along lap; double elliptical-style embossed gilt mat; preserver is stambed with simple foliate pattern; case is thermoplastic with raised bird and twig motif; housed in union case with 0985.13.02162b Lucenia Harrison Marston; |
