Cdv studio portrais of a man, seated, turned facing viewer's right, looking at camera, legs crossed, chair visible, table with patterend tablecloth, left forearm resting on table, right hand in lap; the man wears a single breasted uniform jacket, over civilian clothing [?]; handwritten on obverse, "Edward Hall 1844-1917;" handwritten on reverse, "Edward Hall (1844-1917) of Harford County, Md. Ran away from a private school in Va. And enlisted in the Confederate Army. Son of Thomas White Hall of "Constant Fellowship" and Caroline (Howard) Hall, daughter of Col. Edward Aquila Howard, of "Walnut Hill," Baltimore County, Md. Presented by his cousin, Wm. B. Marye."; affixed to reverse is a $.02 U.S. Internal Revinue tax stamp with George Washington's image on it; |
