Description |
A bright bronze bar-pin with a wreath and a superimposed rectangular "gold" bar. In the middle of the wreath is a steel-worker (?) sitting on top of the bar with a panoramic background. The clasp pin that is soldered to the back is connected to a rectangular red and white striped satin ribbon with "STAFF COMMANDER IN-CHIEF" in gold. This, in turn, is connected directly to bright bronze square that is hung from one corner and is colored "gold." At the top is "1926," the letters "S.C.V." is spread out clock-wise from the left side. The top left reads "31st REUNION BIRMINGHAM" through the top right. In the middle is a depiction of an equestrian group. The bottom half has cotton rolls on both sides of an Army of Northern Virginia flag that is enameled in red and blue. At the very bottom are the letters: "ALA."The badge is attached to the manufacturer's card (5" x 3") with an interesting advertising appeal printed on the back in green ink. |
