Box: Wooden box (.61a) with a sliding lid (.61b). Carved on the lid of the box: "J.W. Bowles. / Johnson's Is'l. O. / 1865". Each side of the box is decorated with painted flowers, leaves, and the top features a compass. Used to hold chess pieces (.61b-hh). |
