Description |
Fragments: Two (2) pieces of mourning drapery. (a) First is black wool - 1.25" X 1". (b) Second is natural wool - 1" x 2.5". The pieces are in a crushed red cardboard box 2" x 3" (removed and in accession file). A paper label on the outside of the box reads: "Drapery hung in Jeff Davis' house by Union Soldiers in memory of Abraham Lincoln when Richmond Va was captured 1865". |
