| Provenance | This pair of wool door curtains is said to have hung behind Jefferson Davis' chair in the Executive Mansion in Richmond.  Union soldiers reportedly cut them down with a sword.  Lt. Col. Andrew Potter of North Adams, Massachusetts left them as relics of his estate. [Reproduction fabric is known as "Crenshaw Damask" and is used in the West Parlor, Center Parlor, and Library.] |
