Description |
A 3 part commemorative badge. On the top is an ornate stamped brass rectangle bar-pin with a white paper insert that reads: "VIRGINIA" in black letters. On the back is a clasp in and a ribbon bar that is connected to a red rectangular satin ribbon with 2 crossed cannons and 3 cannon balls in the middle with the words: "GETTYSBURG 1917" also in gold printing. It is attached to a round brass and tin celluloid covered medal with a yellowed photo and black letters that read :"GENERAL ROBERT E. LEE UNVEILING JUNE 8, 1917." In the center of the medal is a depiction of an equestrian statue of Robert E. Lee. |
