Description |
Inkwell: Cylindrical inkwell consisting of a glass bottle interior with a wooden body and a detachable wooden lid that screws onto the base (.1806a). Lightly engraved in the center of the lid is the letter "C"; surrounding it is engraved, "Carters' Battery". Lightly engraved onto the exterior of the body of the inkwell is, "Geo W. Caine / June 27 - 1862 / Hampton / Va / Caine / Caine". Lightly engraved onto the base of the inkwell, "Caine". |
