Description |
The cane is made from a light-colored walnut branch with carving all over. The inscription on the cane reads, "John B. Cary / Chm Com on Schools / This cane was cut from the english walnut tree in the yard of the Jefferson Davis Confederate Mansion - Richmond May 1894 / Jefferson Davis President / 1861-1865 Died December 1889." The cane has a metal end cap. |
