The initials "W.R.C." stand for Woman's Relief Corps, a women's auxiliary to the GAR, providing memorialization and care for Union veterans. The maker of this quilt is believed to have belonged to the Ottawa Chapter 166, based on the presence of the number "166" on the quilt.
