Bracelet: one of two (2) bracelets, each made of six buttons and a clasp. This bracelet features the following buttons (from clasp): Louisiana State General Service; US Regular General Staff; Virginia State General Service; US Regular General Staff; Virginia State General Staff; and US Regular General Staff. Part of a jewelry set (necklace, hair comb, two bracelets, two earrings, and two cuff links) made from buttons off Confederate Army and Navy officer uniforms. The buttons are brass, two-piece and the larger size (0.875"), except where noted small (0.5"). five US Regular General Staff, three Virginia State General Staff, one Virginia State General Service, one Louisiana State General Service, and two Confederate General Staff. |

The jewelry set is made from buttons of Confederate Army and Navy officers' uniforms. The donor's husband, William W. Davies, spent forty years collecting the buttons and then having them made into a set of jewely called "Rebel Brass." The buttons in the bracelet originated from the following Confederate officers (from clasp): Daniel Ruggles, R. E. Rodes, Thomas J. Jackson, J. H. Lane, John R. Tucker, and James Longstreet. |
