The tassel cord is a blue and white silk thread wound around a cotton filler with blue and gold twisted fringe. The tassel has a bound bobbin with gold thread under and a crossed pattern of braided blue threads. |

The tassel came from a Wisconsin State flag captured from a Wisconsin unit during the Battle of Chickamauga on September 20, 1863. "Cord and tassel cut from a state flag, which was presented by the ladies of Wisconsin to regiment of that state. A brigade including this regiment was captured at Chickamauga on Sept. 20, 1863. They surrendered to Pvt. William H. Barnett, Co. A, 21st Mississippi Regiment." |
