Description |
A 3 part commemorative badge. On top is a crested rectangular "bronze" bar-pin. It is a depiction of the White House in "Washington, D.C." (words are actually printed on a scroll at the top). "OCT. 8-11 (White House dome) 1940" are in the center of the depiction. On the far left is a U.S. flag (between them is the White House) and on the far right is a Confederate States flag. Underneath the depiction are 10 (?) stars. Attached to the bar-pin is a red and white striped rectangular ribbon with the letters: "S.C.V." printed in gold. At the bottom is a "bronze" shield with a scroll at top that reads: "45th ANNUAL CONVENTION". It has a depiction of the Custis Mansion with the words: "OCT 8-11 1940" on the left side just above the roof and "CUSTIS MANSION" on the right just above the roof top. On the left side at the bottom is a portrait of Robert E. Lee, in the middle are the letters "SCV", and on the right is a side portrait of Stonewall Jackson. Below the letters is a Confederate flag. On the back of the medal is the manufacturer's information. The badge is pinned to a card. |
