Description |
The badge consists of a bronze bar pin and pendant. The bar pin has a central shield shape, flanked on the lower left and right by Army of Northern Virginia pattern flags enameled in red and blue. A relief image of an obelisk-shaped monument in front of a mid to late nineteen century institutional structure is in the center of the shield. One long, scroll-shaped banner above the image identifies in raised letters the image(s): "WOMAN'S MONUMENT AND CITY HALL." A monogram of "UCV" in raised format is below the midpoint of the shield above the banner. "22ND" is printed in raised letters to the left of the monogram, and "REUNION" is printed in raised letters to the right of the monogram. "MACON / GA." is printed in raised letters below the central image. A small scroll banner is to either side at the top of the shield, connecting it to the flags. "MAY 7" is printed in raised letters on the left side banner; "-9, 1912" is printed in raised letters on the right side banner. A clasp pin is soldered on the back of the bar. A small metal ring passes through a bottom loop on the bar pin and a hole at the top of the pendant. The obverse of the pendant has an outer edge shaped as a laurel wreath. A relief image of the "Last Meeting" between Gen. Robert E. Lee and Lt. Gen. "Stonewall" Jackson is in the center of the pendant. A curving upward band below the image reads, "LAST MEETING OF LEE AND JACKSON" in raised letters. The reverse of the pendant has the manufacturer's information printed in raised letters in the center and reads, "THE WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO. / NEWARK, N. J." |
