Description |
Confederate Cavalry Officer's Sword: straight, double-edged blade with three short fullers and engraved with military trophies, floral sprays and the motto "NO ME SAQUES SIN RAZON / NO ME EMBAINES SIN HONOR" ("Draw me not without reason. / Sheath me not without honour") and "Schimmelbusch"; brass half basket hilt of three branches and knuckle bow flowing from oval guard into pommel decorated on the forward edge with floral sprays; grip wrapped with shagreen and wound with brass wire, brass ferrule and leather finger loop. Metal scabbard (.162b) with a brass mounts. |
