This canteen was used by Ebenezer Priest during the Civil War. He served as a private in 1st Alabama Infantry, Co. B, "Eufaula Rifles", and then as sergeant in the 39th Alabama Infantry, Co. K. He fought in the battles of Murfreesboro and in the Atlanta Campaign, and was a color bearer. He lost a leg in the battle near Atlanta. |
