This is believed to be the minie ball that killed Captain William A. Wright, Co. F, 55th Virginia Infantry, while charging a Federal battery at Frayser's Farm, June 30, 1862. The bullet also pierced his canteen, to which it is attached. His company captured the Federal battery of five artillery pieces on top of the hill. Captain Wright is buried next to his father at Indian Neck, Essex County, Virginia. |
