Description |
Brush: Oblong wooden brush with eleven rows of natural hair bristles. The bristle groups are wired into the wood through a series of punched holes. The bristle board is a narrow rectangle is shape with slightly rounded arches on the short ends. On board back, at one of the short ends, a nail has been added. The bristles light colored. A paper label is affixed to the board and reads: "Clothes Brush - Personal property / of Jeff Davis, Leader of the / Confederate States - "Appropriated" / by Oliver P. Barr, Co. D of the 7th Pa. / Vol. Cav. while with detail guard / ing Davis after capture" |
