Description |
The surgical kit comes in small trifold leather case (.889) with a design pressed into the exterior of the leather case. The case is lined with a red velvet material with five striped elastic loops to hold the instruments. Stamped on the case flap is the maker's name, "G. TIEMANN & CO." Instruments include tortoise shell instruments on one side, four metal implements in the middle, and a small compartment on the other side. Instruments are: metal foreign body probe (a); metal director or suture needle, perhaps for body probe (b); metal, unknown, screw into one another, each end has two holes at bottom (c); metal, unknown (d); tortoise-shell double scalpel (e); tortoise-shell travel tenanculum/lancet (f); tortoise-shell double scalpel, travel (g); rusty curved needle wrapped in thread (h); paper with two rusty threaded needles stuck in it (i). |
