The anchor of the CSS Virginia (USS Merrimac) dredged from the mouth of the James River in 1907 by the Lamberts Point Tow Boat Company, and identified by a member of the Lamberts Point Coal Piers Company, Mr. Curtis, who had been a ship's carpenter in the Confederate Navy yard, identified the anchor as one he had worked on for the CSS Virginia. |
