Flag of the 5th, later 9th Kentucky Infantry, "Citizen's Guard" (also Headquarters, Thomas H. Hunt). Presented to the unit by Mrs. B. J. Adams of Louisville, KY, and used as Col. Thomas H. Hunt's Headquarters flag. At the end of the war, this flag was brought through the lines sewed in a soldier's coat, and returned to Mrs. Adams. During a Confederate reunion in Richmond, veterans of the regiment reunited for the first time in years beneath this flag. |
