Overcoat: double breasted, with eight buttons in each row, set in pairs, cadet gray wool cloth with dark green wool and silk lining the body, white cotton sheeting lining in the sleeves, no facings or piping, no insignia or sleeve braid, an outside pocket, and Federal staff buttons with backmarks: "EXTRA / QUALITY, SUPERIOR / QUALITY," AND "STEELE & / JOHNSON." The cape attachment buttons are Old English script A buttons with backmark, "TREBLE RICH / STAND'D." The overcoat is associated with a cape (.111a), frock coat (0985.10.108), pants (0985.10.108a), and vest (0985.10.108b). |
