Single shoulder board. Gold velvet shoulder board with major's oak leaves embroidered at each end in gold metallic thread. Stored in envelope inscribed, "Worn by my precious husband during the War of 1861-65 - as Colonel of Artillery A.N.V." Penciled, "Col. J. Thompson Brown, Richmond Howitzers". Associated with a pair of shoulder boards (.5a-b). |
