Description |
The cipher disk (or coding disc) is a brass disc with "C.S.A. S.S." in red Gothic script in the center. The outer circle spins on a pivot pin and is marked with letters of the alphabet, which are used to match against the inner circle's similar marking. No inscriptions on reverse; three marks, that could be a crude Roman numberal "III" or a rough "M", are engraved near one edge on reverse. |
